I was prescribed 300mg of clindamycin 3x a day for 14 days for tonsillitis. does that does mean my cause is really bad? i am concerned with the dose.

First: was a culture of the throat/tonsils performed? Were the antibiotics based on culture results? Are you penicillin allergic? The dose and duration of the antibiotic is irrelevant until you can answer these questions of get the answer from the prescriber and if they say "for a viral tonsillitis/pharyngitis" throw out the antibiotics and find a new doctor/provider....or whatever we are....
