No: We do not lose accommodation because the ciliary muscle becomes wear but because the lens becomes more rigid. The lens grows new fibers at the edge of the lens (the capsule) and grows towards the center. By age 73 the lens is very stiff and will not change shape to focus.

Cilia: Cilia beat in a coordinated manner to move airway secretions such as mucus in the respiratory tract, sinuses and ear passages.
There are several ways the cilia can be damaged, including exposure to cigarette smoke. Once smoking is stopped, the cilia may recover. Avoiding secondhand smoke is also important.  Harsh chemicals when inhaled can potentially injure the cilia as well.

I presume at your: age you are taking a vitamin D supplement because you have been diagnosed as being deficient. Otherwise, unless you have osteoporosis or some other unusual disease for a man your age, you shouldn't need this. If you are deficient, this is a reasonable, perhaps low, replacement dose and should not be causing notable side effects. Toxicity is usually reported at 40,000 IU or higher. Review with Doc

Go to ER: The fact that u r panic stricken would suggest that u shd visit an emergency room so that u can be thoroughly examined and get some tests, if necessary. Without examination it would be impossible to advise. Once a serious illness is ruled out u shd see ur doctor to overcome ur anxiety disorder with medications and psychotherapy if required.

Myopia: Is caused by a longer than normal eye.  The ciliary muscles have no bearing on it.  The inability to focus the eyes at near when wearing distance glasses is called presbyopia.  It is caused by a stiff lens that does not change shape.  It is the ciliary muscles that work on the  lens.  The lens becomes stiff with aging.

Its Time: Your symptoms are serious and need neurlogic and metabolic work up now.  Paralysis which comes and goes is less serious, and can be due to preasure points from excessive time in bed.  Muscle wasting needs a diagnosis.  Loss of muscle from disuse is common and reversable.  You will feel better to know what you can do to help your body when you have answers.

I wish I had: More than 400 characters but in my opinion, those new agents that target specific molecular processes in cancer cells that make them behave as cancer cells are the most exciting. They target cancer cells and spare (to a certain degree) normal cells so the side effects are less. They are not perfect and unfortunately they tend to be veeeery expensive, which is a big problem.

Drugs: antiplatelet drugs interfere with platelet aggregation. Anticoagulant drugs interfere with the coagulation cascade. Antithrombotic is a term covering both kinds of clot medication.
