can i un-choke myself? i live alone and i worry about choking while eating (saw it on an episode of 6 feet under).  what can i do if i feel myself choking and noone is around to help me?

First : First off, don't watch so much tv and chew your food well! but seriously, if you live alone and are not in good health, look into a "life alert" bracelet, and have 911 on speed dial. There is a "self induced" heimlich maneuver, that goes as follows: make a fist, place the thumb below your rib cage and above your navel. Grasp your fist with your other hand. Press it into the area with a quick upward movement. 
You can also use the back of a chair instead of a fist. Make sure you are really choking if you use one of these maneuvers though, if you can speak or cough well, you should dial 911 first!

CIPD: Cipd or chronic inflammatory polradiculo-neuropathy is an immune inflammatory disorder of the peripheral nerves. As such, one may have trouble swallowing with frequent aspiration and coughing. Treatment is with immunosupressants.

i was eating and got choked now when i try to eat or drink it instantly comes up and i feel like i'm choking. how do i fix this?

Go to ER: You can't. Particularly if choked recently,  the issue is swelling,  and concerning because it might get worse before better. Get looked at by dr asap to be safe.

See a doctor: You need some type of evaluation--there could be a lot of causes and without a more detailed history, exam and studies no one can give you the answer.

Likely reflux: It is quite common for babies to bring some of what.S in their stomach back up their esophagus & occasionally into their mouth or nose. Their airway is protected by a sensitive mechanism which will clamp down to prevent material from entering the airway.This results in choking. I find 4m a common peak in this activity with improvement as they begin to sit up more or stand.

ABCs (abacavir): The first step is to clear any food from the child's mouth. Follow the ABC 's of basic CPR, is the airway clear? is the child breathing normally? How is the child's coloration ( lips, skin ), Check the pulse for rate and regularity. 
If your child has developed symptoms after the choking episode, eg fever, cough, difficulty swallowing, vomiting, it is important to seek medical advice.

See below: This may very well be acid reflux. The other possibility is aspiration, less likely. He should be evaluated.

: Suggest you have her throat examined by an ENT and get specific  imaging done to see if there is some obstruction or discoordination of swallowing that may be treatable. Speech language pathologists and ENT docs may use a technique called a cine-esophagram, which is a fluoroscopic movie of the swallowing mechanism and anatomy that can help to detect swallowing problems and how to treat them

i have heard that eating protein after any workout helps feed muscles but i find myself choking down my food..why?

Protein: Rather than eating a meal have a protein drink, try rice protein with complex carbs like baby spinach, kale or broccoli and obtain at least 15 grams of protein. My best.

last night while eating salmon i think i ingested a bone. it went down, no choking, am eating and drinking fine, no pain. should i be worried?

Sounds OK! : If you’re not having any pain or symptoms now, there should be no problem from swallowing a fishbone last night
