ABCs (abacavir): The first step is to clear any food from the child's mouth. Follow the ABC 's of basic CPR, is the airway clear? is the child breathing normally? How is the child's coloration ( lips, skin ), Check the pulse for rate and regularity. If your child has developed symptoms after the choking episode, eg fever, cough, difficulty swallowing, vomiting, it is important to seek medical advice. PRMG/Peds
