Avoid: Avoid buying these foods or keeping them readily available.  Keep your stomach full of healthy things like fruits and vegetables.  Drink water.

No: The sugar in the cake and icing is what your body will use for energy. If you deprive your diet of these simple sugars and other carbohydrates, then it is forced to draw upon your own fat stores for energy rather than leaving your stored fat energy where it is. This idea does not work, sorry. (and don't forget about the daily exercise part! try to break a sweat each day with physical activity).

Likely. Allergy: Some foods may cause irritants tot the throat and esophagus which can cause a cough reflex.  Chocolate sensitivity may be the cause.  See an allergist to further evaluate if you have an allergy or sensitivity to chocolate.

Not a good idea: From the point of view of the antibiotic, yes you can have sweets and cake. From the point of view that the Flagyl is treating an infection, it is best not to take sweets when you have an infection. It would be OK to take occasional sweets or chocolate. If Diabetic take none.

Varies: First, get dark chocolate that is at least 70% cocoa. If it isn't listed on the label and says dark, it will be mostly sugar. If it is at least 70% cocoa the label will say so and then it is a healthful treat so some have said that up to 3 oz  is not harmful. Chocolate is loaded with antioxidants and makes most of us feel good so enjoy.

May be Hypoglycemia: You may be having hypglycemic eoisodes, probably reactive hypoglycemia.You need to consult your doctor and mey need to get 4 hour glucose tolerance test and if positive for reactive hypoglycemia you may be referred to a dietician for hypoglycemic diet.
