Start slowly as tol: If all it was was a bone contusion and an mr showed no ligament injury, as soon as u are feeling good, start on ur own. Kixk some, run cut & if all is well get back into competition slowly. Don't play all 3 periods. Start with 1 and work up 2 as tolerated.

i twisted my ankle and chipped the bone, most of the swelling has gone but my inside ankle bone is very tender. how long should i stay off sport?

Torn ligaments too??: A chip of bone in an ankle is often a sign that a ligament is injured too as that chip can be broken off when the ligament is over stretched from a sprain injury.  Also, on the inside of the ankle is a major tendon that can be torn.  Ankle supports, physical therapy may be needed as well as an MRI. A patient can take 4 to 12 weeks to return to exercise activities.

had a talus facture surgery two weeks ago. i have some movement to my ankle but a times u having pulling of the scar tissue and pain  around the bone.

No surprise!: It takes a while to recover from any surgery.  It is a major illness.  If you are improving instead of worsening, great!  If you are getting worse, though, contact your surgeon right away!  Your best result depends on following your surgeon's instructions, who knows the best way for you to recover as completely and rapidly as possible.

Since you odont mention which side of the ankle, medial or lateral all we know is there is ankle swelling which could be caused by a multitude of problems. You should visit a podiatrist or orthopedist for further exam and treatment.

They Happen!: Most any joint can develop hypertrophy (enlargement) of bone.  "spurs" is the common term for this build up of bone.  It can be the result of trauma to the joint, osteoarthritis of the joint, other arthritis conditions and general wear and tear.  Just having them does not have to mean anything.  It they become large enough and in the right position, they can be painful and need medical attention.
