Consistency and time: Having a consistent routine for sleeping and waking time to allow for about 9 hours of sleep.  Bed time habits need to be tailored to the age and taste of the child, brushing teeth, shower, bed time stories, reading by her/himself, warm milk etc.

Hyperactive: Depends on what medications he is on for adhd, possibility of after-effects of medication with poor sleep. Discuss with his physician possibility of adjunctive medication for sleep, such as Clonidine or remeron, (mirtazapine) depending on his age.

Bed wetting: I would start with simple things: mak sure he empties bladder before going to bed; restrict fluids in the evening; eliminate caffeine and sweets from his diet; if he is constipated try myralax or increase fiber in his diet; try to determine at what time of the night he was the bed. If he wets early, set an alarm 2 hrs after going to bed and have him empty bladder. Some kids need to see a urologist.

Sure: Nightlights can help children soothe themselves when they are going to sleep or when they wake up in the middle of the night.  Make sure the light isn't too bright though- you don't want it keeping them up!  a soft light allows the child to see their familiar surroundings and can help them from getting too scared in the dark.

No: Children generally need 9-10 hours of sleep- and it is nice for the parents if they go to bed early...But if a child sleeps 9-10 hours and went to bed at 10 pm it is ok for the child. It is true that we repair our bodies and that children grow while sleeping.

Insomnia in child: Put your child in his or her bedroom, it might take a while till he or she be able to sleep throu the night.
Make her sure that you love her and support her. Do not rush.

Consistency: I will preface by saying i'm glad i don't live in your house. First, a calm, consistent bed time routine. Put them to bed while almost asleep but still awake, and allow them to fall asleep on their own. Let them fuss and cry a few minutes, comfort, put down, and leave. After a period of time, they will sleep. Even if it takes a few days. Consistently using the crib as the sleep place works.

No stuff in the crib: This is presumably referring to a baby.  There is no question that if the issue is safety, the most important thing is to decrease the chances of injuries and sids.  So this means for infants, no blankets or pillows or bumpers or wedges; for toddlers still in a crib, no bumpers or other objects than might enable strangulation or a toehold for climbing out (or even better, move out of the crib!).

Terrible Problem: Sleep disturbance is such a terrible problem.   You describe not being able to sleep more than six hours as a child?   There could be numerous medical causes for this.  Also, we see poor sleep as a result of a number of bad habits or "learned behavior" as we call it.    These include caffeine,  TV, screen time, stress,  using bedroom for activities other than sex and sleep.  See a doc!
