does having an adult circumcision leave you with a worse scar than a child circumcision?

Can only speculate: The procedure itself is much more involved: general anesthesia, sutures, swelling, itching, recovery etc in the adult. Add the anticipation & remembrance of the process in an adult. The mental residual is quite different than the infant who, when i ask kids, never remembers that anything was done.The physical scar is similar & a reflection of the skill of the surgeon.

since i was child i noticed a circumcision scar on my penis and there is a part of surgical suture in it
no other symptoms ?

Clarify: Generally circumcisions done in the 1st month of life do not require suturing. If it was done later they would usually be absorbable sutures that would be long gone. There may be a lump or knot of skin, but this would only be a cosmetic issue. If concerned have it evaluated by your doc.

Hard to say: If that kid is the one of hundreds that will get recurrent urinary disease that might lead to kidney loss and dialysis, he might appreciate it, but chances are small.If he is one that develops foreskin cancer, or an extra std, the procedure might be appreciated. The kid who develops para-phymosis leading to strangulation of the penile tip, might. All rare but possible.

See remark: You have STRICTURE of the meatus as a consequence of meatoplasty. It is like pinching the tip of the hose while spraying.
See a urologist ,to "revise" or dilate the meatus.

Definitely yes: Most pediatric urologists or pediatric surgeons will gladly perform circumcision under same anesthetic as hydrocele surgery. Just ask.

if a guy was not circumcised as a child, can he get it done in adulthood?

Accepted Answer

Yes,but: While the process is simple & quick as a newborn it becomes a problem as an adult. Newborns can be done awake under a local anesthetic with a simple clamp device. Adults generally require a general anesthesia &  suturing. As i recall it was one of the most requested forms of requested elective surgery during my time at a naval medical center.

Not surgery 30yr ago: If you are having genitourinary pain, you should see your dr / urgent care / std clinic or urology for evaluation and any necessary testing. It is extremely unlikely that it is just now showing up from childhood / infancy.

my parents dont talk about these things as they belong to a conservative family. does dorsal slit have any disadvantages over circumcised penis?

Basics: I believe the dorsal slit was the first &amp; quickest method of circumcision practiced before equipment advances allowed a simple 360 degree foreskin removal. The procedure allowed better access for cleaning &amp; prevented a problem called paraphimosis where the glans could become trapped &amp; loose blood supply. It evolved to a more cosmetic procedure. Peoples preference varies.

is it possible to have emergency circumcisions?

Circumcision: Circumcision would only be done on an urgent basis if paraphimosis was present.
This happens when the foreskin gets trapped in the rolled back position and swells to the point of compromising the glans penis circulation.  Sometimes a dorsal slit is done as a temporary relief to the strangulation.
