: Yes, it could be scar tissue from the transplant or from an old case of pneumonia. If a prior chest X-ray is available for comparison, it will be very helpful and can show if this is a new finding. The radiologist may recommend a repeat X-ray in a week or so, or may want a CT scan for further evaluation.

: An oh by the way finding. Since the study was not for your lungs this is just a random comment. The picture seen could be an underinflated area of the mid right lung (breath not deep enough) or old scar. The wording does not suggest anything else but leaves it to the ordering doc to decide if other x-rays/tests are needed.

my 17 year old son was seen in er a few days ago ct shows enlarged spleen. now has 102 fever diarrhea pain in  abdomen chest jaw and back?

Infectious Mono : Splenic enlargement in your son with highly suggestive symptoms of Mono should be confirmed with blood test. Pl make sure he is taking part in contact sport or other injury to his abdomen to avoid serious risk of bleeding. A follow up U.S. In a couple of month would be desirable. Good luck

i have a lump on the back of my neck. all my bloodwork is normal. i did have a ct of chest and abdomen and it was normal. could this be lymphoma. i am a past cancer patient. will a ct scan of the chest and abdomen show the neck?

: There is not enough information given by you to tell the nature of the lump on the back of your neck. It is important to discuss with your clinician rather than being anxious. It may be that the would do a biopsy or removal of the lump but you best discuss with your doctor. It depends on how high the cut went when they did the CT and that also you should ask your doctor.

Different issues: Acne rosacea, and acne vulgaris are usually caused by propionic bacteria.  However there may be folliculitis resulting from inspection of the hair follicles by normal flora/bacteria on the skin, which can be secondary infection resulting from staphylococcus species.  On the other hand, throat infection is usually cause by streptococcus or Staphylococcus species, which are different mechanisms.

i am of 49.my liver is developing fat and my lung field shows emphysematous change.i am not experiencing any symptoms till now.so is this serious?

Possibly : Not sure if the two are related. If you are not a smoker, one condition you should discuss with your doctor is alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, which can present in mid- to late-40's.

translocational rcc, has undergone extensive chemo but latest test show cancer spread to liver and sternum. going to start with sunitinib.  prognosis?

It is a good drug: Sunitinib is a  good drug which is very powerful. So you should start it soon and hope that it works(it works in less than half of the patients(40-50%). Another new treatment approved recently is immunotherapy with Nivolumab(Opdivo). This is a powerful drug to keep in mind and use it either before Sunitinib or as next therapy in case Sunitinib failed to benefit you.
