i have 4mm kidney stone w flank pain for a month. started flomax (tamsulosin) and chanca piedra supplement 3 days ago. how long to try this b4 surgery instead?

Ureteral stone: The size of the stone does not correlate well to the intensity of the pain.  The nearly unbearable pain of "ureteral colic" is from spasm of the muscular ureter.  Although 50% probability to pass on its own within a few days, a 4mm stone sometimes will get stuck and fail to progress.  Usually after 5 days, i recommend having the stone extracted with a ureteroscope as an outpatient.

Do you know if it is a kidney or a gall stone?  These are treated a bit differently.

Oral thrush is caused by Candida, can be seen in immune suppressed persons or those who have been on antibiotics, and can be treated with a topical solution or an oral antifungal. Suggest discuss with your doctor.

2 stones(28 pounds): In a couple months  is a pretty high goal. 
Consider losing at a slower rate to keep it off. To lose weight insure that calories burned &gt; calories consumed. Drink at least 8  - 8 oz glasses of water per day.  Aim for at least 5 servings of vegetables ; 4 servings of fruit per day. Use whole grain when possible. Avoid sodas, alcohol ; junk carbohydrates. Get in a mix of aerobic ; weight lifting.
