Symptoms: The central disc proteusions are likely  age appropriate asymptomatic incidentsl findings if you have right arm shoulder and painto indes and thumb then this image reveals cause to be a correctable disc herniation if you dont have right arm pain then this means nothing . At your age.

These results discribed are disk disease/degenerative changes, there is nothing described to tell of how sever eit is so it is difficult to know what the extent is without seeing the images. The most important thing concerning the MRI is to make sure the finding are consistent with your symptoms in order to tell if it is of any concern. As we age, most of us have the abnormalities as described in your report, but the importance is deciding if this is the cause of your symptoms. This should be done by your doctor.

Can take 1- 2 years: MRI's of the cervical spine show the current state of the the spinal elements as they change over time.Several of those changes such as uncovertebral joint hypertrophy are a response to gravity and changes in the disc.The disc herniations will do their best to heal slowly over time, however they are due to aging and degeneration with water loss.In the meantime continue PT and regular f/u w/your MD

i am on 3000 milligram tylenol daily... for mild to moderate osteoarthritis in multiple places cervical spine and the knees and the lower back... the only way i get relief chronic pain is with this regimen. do i need routine testing of liver function?

Not on 3 gms of: tylenol (acetaminophen). If you exceeded this amount daily,then your liver enzymes should be checked,but you are in the safe zone. Do not drink alcohol on this regimen

Not yet: The Lidocaine would be expected to wear off in less than a day.  The Dexamethasone  takes 1-2 weeks to show maximum improvement.

No- epidural steroid: Injection is not a diagnostic test but a treatment . You need to have a physician who is knowledgable about both conditions evaluate you and the appropriate studies for both regions and determine the exact cause or causes of your symptoms.  An orthopedic surgeon may be a good specialist to choose.

Treatment options: Diffuse degeneration with associated disc bulging is not necessarily a terrible pathologic condition, unless there is severe stenosis (pinched nerves) associated with it. However, as you are experiencing, the associated pain can be significant. I would recommend aggressive conservative measures - physical therapy, regular exercise, weight loss, smoking cessation, improved diet, possibly injections.
