A few hours: It will be gone within 12-24 hours. But probably doesn't matter much:  not likely to be harmful. Even if you're allergic to it, most severe allergic reactions start within a couple of hours, so you're probably already past any potential risk.

Good for infections: Cephalexin is a wonderful medication for moderate to severe oral bacterial infections.  However, overuse can lead to some very severe intestinal problems.  Because of the possibility of side effects, there are other medications that are usually prescribed first.

No: That medication has no effect on conception or on a baby if you were pregnant.

Sometimes, : Sometimes, a boil can take a few days to start to improve.  Perhaps a kenalog (triamcinolone) injection into the area might help.  Other options might include warm compresses followed by ice packs.  Sometimes, incision and drainage is necessary.  Read more about boils at the link below.  I hope that helps!

is it okay to take fertility medication (clomiphene citrate 50mg) with antibiotic (cephalexin 500mg)?

Not at same time: Separate the two pills and take them at least 6 hours apart for best absorption of the antibiotic.

i am taking the antibiotic cephalexin, is it fine to take antacids (mylanta) while taking the medication. will it cause any interactions?

Accepted Answer

: You are concerned that the Mylanta might trap some of the antibiotic and lower its effectiveness.  This is not likely with this combination.  To play it safe, take a 1/2 hour interval between the ingestion of the pill and the Mylanta.  That will guarantee that there is no cross interaction.

it is my 3rd day of taking cephalexin and i feel a tight feeling around throat. no rash or other symptoms. could it be from the medication or illness?

Why are you on abx?: Well first of all what was your diagnosis. Chances are the antibiotic is just beginning to work now. If you are on the antibiotic for upper respiratory issues most likely from the illness. An allergic reaction would be more widespread  but see how you progress

: Yes you are possibly allergic to it- so stop and call your doc. Try drinking water. Dizziness can occur as a side effect but anger and anxiety are probably related to your getting upset at the symptoms. Hope you feel better

: Based on available information cephalexin is considered in general compatible with pregnancy, it does cross placenta in the fetal circulation. Your best reference remains your obstetrician that can review its benefit/ risk ratio in your current context.

Statin Drug: Statin drugs are medications used to help redue cholesterol and lipids in your blood. Cephalexin is an antibiotic and that's not in the statin category
