I am taking the antibiotic cephalexin, is it fine to take antacids (mylanta) while taking the medication. will it cause any interactions?

You are concerned that the Mylanta might trap some of the antibiotic and lower its effectiveness. This is not likely with this combination. To play it safe, take a 1/2 hour interval between the ingestion of the pill and the Mylanta. That will guarantee that there is no cross interaction.
