Allergy.: An allergy to a food, medicine, product or anything else, does not appear the first couple of times you take/eat/apply it, sometimes not fora  week or two. Rarely, it can happen after many doses have been safely used  So this could mean you are allergic to the Rocephin (ceftriaxone). It depends on what else is going on, or something else you are taking. Ask your doc if the rash is due to that, or something else

Depends: Name brand and generic drugs have wildly different costs.  The markup on drugs is approximately 100% over wholesale but then is discoutned by most insurance companies.  Add to that the cost of the drug administration which can be 10-75$ for intramuscular injection and 5-10 times that for IV injection and you can estimate the price.

"supposed allergy": is the key word, but still we can't clear you to be NOT allergic to PCN, although highly unlikely that you are. Cross reactivity of penicillin and ceftriaxone (rocephin) , is much less than other cephalosporins. If you need PCN and it is the only treatment for your condition, then testing / desensitization can be performed, otherwise there are alternatives, so you don't need to worry

Swelling..: After this type of injection you may get swelling under the skin but does not mean the medication stays there, the body absorbs the medication. Try icing the area and if you develop a rash or the swelling gets worse follow up with your doctor.

UTI: Rocephin (ceftriaxone) - Ceftriaxone - is a parenteral antibiotic, only can be given IV or IM.  Most simple UTIs need only an oral antibiotic, and 3 days is often enough.  Usually, there would be no indication for a parenteral antibiotic unless you have a complicated and/or resistant infection.  In that case, you may need a longer course of treatment, too.

That is quite a: Bit of treatment for a uti. If symptoms have persisted need further work up and potential urologic evaluation rather than "shotgun" antibiotics.

Unnecessary: They are both similar cephalosporin antibiotics, and do not have much of an additive effect.  One or the other should be enough.
