CD markers: CD stands for cluster of differentiation and can help distinguish cell types.  CD8+ usually identifies a cell as a killer T cell.   CD8- identifies a cell as NOT a killer T cell.   In immunology, CD57+ cells usually are NK or T cells.  Hence, CD8+CD57+ would reflect a killer T cell with CD57 expression.  CD8-CD57+ could be a NK cell with CD57 expression (note non-immune cells also express CD57).
