See a dermatologist: it is a benign condition some people claimed some success of making it lighter by using topical steroid  some claimed better result with systemic therapy and that why you need to see a dermatologist some claimed it could disappear on its own see a dermatologist

Sometimes called: erythema dyschromicum perstans , almost similar to lichen planus , was noted to originate in south america.  But a few case have been seen in europe ( italy, finland) to name a few. Clofazimine has been shown to work on certain individuals as well as dapsone.  Please with your dermatologist. Please note that both of these medications do have side effects

Sounds : Sounds like you might have either darier's disease or hailey-hailey?  There are several treatments that can help for these conditions but no cure.  There are some reports of laser being helpful for hailey-hailey.  I would recommend  you consider getting a second opinion so that you get a good idea of all the treatment options and better tips on managing this condition. I hope that helps!

Lichen planus: Lichen planus is an inflammatory skin disease--a cousin of psoriasis.  If it is no longer itchy, it may be dormant, quiet, under control right now.  Because you have had inflamed spots in the past, it can leave dark marks behind.  They often fade with time, but if you are darker pigment, they may last  a long time.

Dopamine: Stimulation (presumptively by amphetamines)  causes a release of dopamine.  If this is "supraphysiological" - i.e., more than the body would normally account for - you can end up with a Dopamine deficit.    This is the same think as Cocaine addicts have after a run on cocaine, or crank or meth addicts have after a run.  The good news is that the body can and will build it back up if allowed to.
