Yes: If you have hypertension you should avoid decongestant, usually with the letter "d" after the medication (robitussin (guaifenesin) d, Allegra d, etc)
usually the d for decongestant is pseudoephedrine, a stimulant that iincrease bp, heart rate and can get you in trouble.
Don't confuse with dm for dextrometorphan, a cough suppressant medication that is ok.

Allergy Meds Fine: There are no contraindications for taking these medications while on allergy medicine (like antihistamines or steroid nasal sprays).

i took a benedryl for my allergies,  and my amlodipine for my blood pressure at around the same time tonight. can i take my alprazolam tonight also?

Better no: alprazolam would interact with benadryl (diphenhydramine) causing CNS depression, please exercise caution when taking multiple drugs, good luck

does losartan treat edema??? i developed swelling in legs/feet--dr suspected my bp medication (amlodipine) & told me to stop taking. she initially prescribed hcz for the swelling but, because i reminded her i have sulfa allergy, replaced w/ losartan?

: Losartan is a blood pressure medication in the ARB class. It is not generally used to treat edema, but it also doesn’t cause edema the way amlodipine can. HCTZ is a diuretic and is sometimes used to treat edema, but good catch about the sulfa allergy!  There are other diuretics that do not have a sulfa molecule and might be useful along with the losartan.

Not common to have: severe foot pain.  Norvasc (amlodipine) can cause these side effects thoughDizziness, lightheadedness, swelling ankles/feet, nausea, abdominal/stomach pain, or flushing may occur.
