M58, could norvasc (amlodipine) 10 mg per day cause severe constipation?

Ca2+ channel blocker: Norvasc (amlodipine) may cause constipation at times. This is not an unusual side effect. It may be bad enough to indicate a need to change to something else.

Not usually: Norvasc (amlodipine) is a calcium channel blocker with several side effects though GI effects including constipation is not reported often. With the medical conditions you list, you may be on several medications which can work together to alter bowel function. Increase fluid intake (64+ oz daily - often warm fluids in am); fiber in diet; consider fiber supplement, i.e. psyllium; EXERCISE daily.
