Unlikely: While it is possible to have reactions to the preservatives used in artifical tears, it is not common. You could try preservative free artificial tears. A better solution would be to see an eye doctor in order to determine the cause of the inflammation in the eye resulting in redness.

Couple answers:: Patanol (olopatadine) and artificial tears can be taken together but they counteract each other so it's pointless. Patanol (olopatadine) dries out your eyes, artificial tears are supposed to wet your eyes but don't work well anyway. If u have allergies and dry eyes, try a punctum plug to help your dry eyes, which helps with contacts too. Or a mild steroid drop like Alrex will treat both. But these can't be used with contacts.

what can i do regarding sore, dry eyes in the morning? ophthalmologist diagnosed eye allergies and dry eyes. using restasis & cromolyn eye drops. artificial tears as needed and warm/cool compresses. at night i use systane gel 2 drops per eye?

: As I am sure your ophthalmologist recommended, avoid any irritants in your environment … smoke, vape, chemicals, etc and, if possible, keep in a hydrated environment (humidity)

Artificial tears: There are many different brands of artificial tears.  Any of them can be used to help dry eye symptoms, so you can definitely use hypotears to help your eyes feel better.

Hypotears (artificial tears): Hypotears: hypo tears lubricant eye drops, sterile, economy size 1 fl oz (30 ml) are lubricant eye drops available at amazon.Com or drugstore.Com and elsewhere. Commerically prepared eye lubricants are generally safe for anyone, any condition. The rare problem would be an allergy to a preservative or other component of the eye drops.

Preservative free: Drops are usually better for the eyes with moderate to severe dry eyes. Systane and refresh both have preservative free preparations. Restasis is important to treat the source of dry eyes- inflammation.

Artificial tears: You can use artificial tears long term. Most formulations are found in over-the-counter sections and are safe. Restasis appears to be effective and can be used for long period of time, but i would try to go off of it, say, after 3 months to see if the function restores on its own.

Word games: Asthma is a  condition where factors that try to close airways (protecting them from toxic exposures like gasses) or open to resume breathing are not in balance. Re-opening after a trigger is slowed &amp; often needs help. Allergies are just one of the factors that can trigger the protective closing in some. Asthma is asthma. Triggers differ from person to person.

i have slight tingling lips. i dont have allergies to anything and no medication. i have gastritis but thats it. what causes tingling lips? should i be concerned?

: If persisted, low calcium in blood (hypocalcemia) needs to be ruled out by a simple blood test.
