food allergy blood testing done. results say class iii abnormal - wheat allergy. i also had a blood test - ige gluten- that came back as class iii abnormal (high) and a test - celiac (ab ttg dgp tiga w/rflx) that is negative. what does this all mean?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. Why were these tests done? What symptoms do you have?  It would be prudent to see a GI  doctor. Wish you good health!

Risk of blood clot: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, if the test was done correctly, it means that you are at risk for developing blood clots. You may wish to consult a hematologist for further evaluation and treatment.

i tested a 89% on my congenital antithrombin iii deficiency test.. what im reading online is this isnt a good thing? can someone please explain? i cant get ahold of my doctor he is out for the week?

: I'm unsure of the normal ranges but 89% sounds ok. If one has antithrombin111 deficiency she'd have a family history of clotting disorder as it's a congenital condition that's treated with anticoagulant therapy especially if one has had otherwise unexplained phlebitis. Was the test done because of a clotting issue or a family history of one? Were other coagulation tests also done?

i had 3 to 4 blood clots in lungs and hospital did a test to see why i had them fibringen antithrombin iii protein c protein c antigen all high?

Not the cause of PE: Pulmonary embolism (pe) is an abnormal clot. Your docs are looking for cause. Fibrinogen is an acute phase reactant and is not likely a cause of your clot. Low protein c and low at-iii can contribute to pe; however your values are high and therefore did not contribute to your pe. I am sure your docs are looking for other causes. Good luck.

7 wks 3 days pregnant i got blood tests. protein s, activity is 39. protein c, factor v/viii, prothrombin, b2 glycoproteins, lupus anticoagulant, cardiolipin, antithrombin iii are normal. i have always bled easy and no history of clots. is this bad?

: This sounds good overall but the tests you mention are usually done because of clot history rather than bleeding history.  An older test called a “bleeding time” test can help diagnose certain bleeding disorders like Bon Willebrand’s disease which could definitely affect the amount of bleeding after delivery of an infant.

Yes: Allergies can cause chronic coughing, but a doctor will evaluate to look for other causes. Asthma (some people cough but don't wheeze), gastroesophageal reflux (heartburn), allergic rhinitis (allergies in nose), non-allergic rhinitis (runny nose with negative allergy tests), TB (tuberculosis infection), throat cancer, lung cancer, sinusitis, drug side effects, etc... Can all cause chronic cough.

Adult onset: Allergies can begin at any age even as adults. Seasonal allergies are due to pollens and/or molds. Year round allergies are due to dust mites, animals and indoor mold. Food allergies can also start as adults.

Depends: people differ in the degree of severity of allergic reaction, from just oral pruritus or no reaction, to florid anaphylactic shock to the same agent, in case of ingested agents, as for inhalants, from no reaction to severe asthma attack or even anaphylactic shock, injectables can have the same ingested agents, hope that answers the long- standing question

Absolutely!: Sinus fluid often drains down the back of your throat, causing a cough reflex. This is fairly common.  If you have known allergies and aren't having fever or green/bloody drainage, it's really not a problem.
