Not the cause of PE: Pulmonary embolism (pe) is an abnormal clot. Your docs are looking for cause. Fibrinogen is an acute phase reactant and is not likely a cause of your clot. Low protein c and low at-iii can contribute to pe; however your values are high and therefore did not contribute to your pe. I am sure your docs are looking for other causes. Good luck.
