Spinal anesthesia: Spinal anesthesia for C section should not cause cauda equina syndrome unless it is complicated by bleeding or infection inside the spinal canal. You will experience weakness and numbness in your lower extremities. A spinal MRI may help to confirm the cause.

Doubtful: These injections are usually a combination of cortisone and local anesthetic ( Lidocaine, novocaine, marcaine, etc.)-no: these mediciations should provide relief and anesthesize the area.

Short answer is YES: Disk herniation is a definite for symptoms known as cauda equina syndrome.  Depending upon the location in the dorsal spine symptoms may present differently. The location of what you describe most likely will cause pain or numbness and tingling sensations in the vicinity of the sciatic nerve. Would recommend a thorough neurological examination with imaging and electrical studies for more complete.

Thanks for asking!: Tarvol cyst is most likely to caused caudal equine syndrome, specially if the cyst is grater then 1.5 cm. Those cysts, tarlov cysts, are defined as cysts formed within the nerve-root sheath at the dorsal root ganglion in the spinal canal, most of them  are benign.

NEUROGENIC BLADDER: Whatever the neurologist recommend  for the  neurogenic  bladder. He has experience  on that condition.

Botox for bladders: The recovery period is about 24 hours basically.  Any improvement should be noticed within a day or two.  Unfortunately the effects of the Botox eventually wear off and additional treatments would be needed.

Depends: If cauda equina syndrome is detected early, neurogenic bowel and bladder symptoms can resolve after neurosurgical correction.  Nerve damage can be so severe that regrowth is impossible and the damage is permanent. There is currently no surgery to restore function to a neurogenic bowel and long term catheterization is often required.

Trust: You should be comfortable with your doctor's recommendations. If you are not , seek  second opinion. Most insurances will cover 2 nd opinion. Check with your insurance if you need pre authorization and your out pocket cost.

Rarely: Cauda equina syndrome occurs with severe compression (pressure) on the nerves in the low back. People have trouble emptying the bladder, numbness in the private area; they may also have leg pain (usually both sides), numbness, tingling, weakness. For an epidural injection to do this, a large volume of liquid would have to be injected; if the nerve channel was already very narrow it could happen.
