recently ive had a bad reaction to acne medication and my scabs have healed but im left with shiny pink skin. ive been covering both areas with petroleum jelly and gauze. now that i have new skin do i leave them uncovered and stop using petroleum?

: New skin growth needs moisture and protection to mature. Keep using the petroleum jelly to avoid long term scars, and keep covered to avoid scratching or other trauma that can disrupt the new skin.

i got got 2 teeth removed 2 days ago and i was wondering what color should the area have, my gums have a light yellow color around the area , i followed every step post extraction took medication, applied pressure with gauze, applied ice outside etc.

Review with MD: If fat or other tissue is trapped, the ch pieces are surgical correction or nerve blockade.  Because of your other medical problems, you need to review your options with   your primary physician

Normal part of heali: After any surgery there is inflammation which means fresh blood and fighting white cells go to the area and help things heal.  The fluids they bring with them leak out of the incision as it heals and get on the dressing.  Exposure to air turn them colors which is meaningless  the localized redness is also a sign of inflammation which is important to healing.

after the drainage of an infected sebaceous cyst when i pulled out the packing i started bleeding and i had to have an artery stiched. was it a negligence from the doctor that rather packed 5  feet of gauze strip in there than realizing an artery was rupt

i have a piece of gauze stuck on my open flesh wound, how to remove it safely without damaging my wound?

: The best way is to use sterile saline. Apply another sterile gauze soaked in sterile saline and allow the stuck gauze to become rehydrated. After 10 minutes or so, it should come away easily. Try using non stick gauze to cover your wound, or apply either sterile vaseline or Neosporin with regular gauze. This added moisture will encourage healing and minimize scarring.

Sticks!: Apply an non-stick dressing first, and keep it in place with a gauze roll. otherwise oozing from the abrasion will make the gauze stick.  Be sure your tetanus shot is up to date (if not, get it within 72 hours of injury).  Keep the area clean using saline or tap water (or very mild dilute soap if dirty).  Apply a light coat of Aquafor (per Dr. Dohan). Keep covered

Cover the area with an occlusive dressing changed every other day and protected from trauma. Antibiotics do not help healing unless it is truly infected.
