had severe constant pain on carotid artery for long time. can't turn neck for months. bulges more than right side. occasional skin  rash although always leather skin there. lightheaded. eyelid twitch, eye pain. ear pain. carotid throbs when standing?

See a doctor:  You have symptoms that are usually found in people suffering from a number of different conditions, such as cervical arthritis, carotid dissection, a thin neck , dermatitis and swollen lymph nodes.

Please see a doctor to sort them out into a diagnosis upon which a treatment can be based.

Your carotid artery: is not blocked. Blocked carotid does not hurt. You may have some sort of infection or inflammation involving your ear or  lymphnodes in neck or neck muscle spasms or even cervical strain  or sprain.

i had a dissection in my carotid artery in february. i still experience light pain in left jaw, ear and neck.  is this normal?

Carotid dissection.: This may very well be a normal occurrence, but I'm assuming you've been back to your Vascular surgeon for regular evaluations and Doppler studies.  If you have not, then I can't be sure.

Ear infection: The pain in the neck can be from swollen lymph nodes, you may have an ear infection, you need to have it looked at.

Ear pulsing: A carotid lesion with transmission of flow feeling to the ears is possible so a carotid echo is reasonable. The symptom is not specific and lots of things could be related.

Earlier: better than late. pain may be in the carotid region but carotid artery does not cause pain even if you have ateritis.
there are other regions for pain some benign and some serious. u may have infection, t/m jt arthritis or neuralgia.

have "whooshing" in left ear that has rhythm of heartbeat & mild vertigo when laying prone. carotid artery test normal. could this be inner ear prob?

Whooshing: The carotid may be completely normal and the turbulent flow you're hearing produced nearer to the left ear perhaps inside the skull. It isn't easy to deal with. Seeing you've had trouble with your cervical vertebrae increases chances its related Discuss with your Doc.

: Carotid artery is one of the most visible of all the arteries in the body.
That is because it is not covered by the neck muscles all that well.
Since you do not have much fat padding(you are too thin), this makes the arteries more visible.
If you have further concerns, get your blood pressure checked and also have your doctor check your heart for any problem with your heart valves.
