Tincture of time: You can not make this ulcer heal faster.  They are self limiting, do not spread & will heal on their own in 7-10 days.  Some home remedies can make them slightly more comfortable during the healing process.

Can't: I am not  aware of a proven effective method. If it is a canker sore it will resolve in a couple of days. If it doesn't or you have lots of "canker sores" get a good diagnosis of what is happening.

Aphthae: Not herpes, no culture needed. See a dermatologist. Various treatments when troublesome. Silver nitrate stick helps some people. Colchicine. Many others. Most need no treatment. If it persists, it is not aphthous lesion and may need biopsy.

Well...it's not good: Important to know how long its been there and your history with them.  If you get them frequently & they come and go and this is pretty normal for you, speak with your doctor about antiviral medications (could be a herpetic lesion instead).  If the lesion has been there longer than 2 weeks or if this is abnormal for you, see a doctor (dentist, ent, or oral surgeon) immediately.

If you can see it: And access it with a cotton swab, try a product called zilactin (many pharmacies carry).  Place a small drop on the small swab and apply a thin coating over the canker (grab on to something- burns a little at first....  )  let your dentist treat it w other medications or a laser if you can. 10-14 days is the usual course for resolution.  Good luck!

Options: Saltwater gargles: mix 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water – gargle several times a day. Or gargle with aloe vera juice twice a day. See physician if  not resolving.

Many causes: Epsteinn barr virus can cause this but there areany causes of canker sores.  Please see your doctor for a diagnoses and treatment.

Aphthous ulcer: Try warm saline gargle for 1 week and it should resolve. Take advil (ibuprofen) or Motrin for the pain as needed.

Canker sore: Go to the pharmacy and get some ointment to cover the lesion it will make you so much more comfortable
if that doesn't help see your dentist.

i am being treated for strep and on pill #5. my throat is already looking much better, except weirdly i have one almost like a canker sore look type lesion on the way back wall of my throat in the middle. what could this be from?

: Possibly, bacteria is localizing.  I would continue with the drug regimen, until complete.  Then make a final observation.  Seek attention if still problematic.
