dx with umbilical cellulitis x3days. told to clean with alcohol & tx with bacitracin. while cleaning with alcohol swab tonight,it started bleeding. should i be concerned that the infection may have entered my bloodstream and request oral antibiotics?

Depends: If you do not have fever, it is unlikely that you have blood stream infection. The bleeding may be part of the healing process. Granulation tissue may bleed if wiped with more than gentle touch.

cellulitis of scalp (via psoriasis) was prescribed generic bactrim and a bacitracin ointment plus tea tree oil on cuts. safe to wash hair now or wait?

Gentle wasch ok : Cellulitis  in scalp can happen if you scratched some psoriasis leasions and bacgerial infection got in. If you are on antibiotics and lesions  are healing - you can gently shower and us mild  shapmoo . Use clean towel every time to dry hair.
 continue topical treatment as well as precribed. Follow up with dermatologist regullary . Eat healhty low carb diet and probiotics.

Possibly: Yes, this may occur. Especially if you are otherwise healthy. Keep an eye on it however, and if the area of redness is spreading, see your M.D.

Either one is: Ok, but main thing is adequate drainage and mechanical cleansing, systemic antibiotics if necessary.  Topical ointment is probably of much lesser significance.  Ask your surgeon to be sure.

i was recently diagnosed with cellulitis in my leg. i just finished a week of antibiotics and there is still some very minor pain. is this normal?

Yes.: Aslong as you are improving, thats what matters. You might need a little longer on the antibiotics,like 10-14 days.

Well - the doctor: who evaluated you was able to get a full hx &amp; to do a physical exam.  From the info available  - I can only say it could be consistent with cellulitis.

72 y/o woman, hx of cellulitis, prior leg injury, found small lump on her ll leg. doesn't hurt to touch directly & leg doesn't seem hot or swollen.

Watch carefully!: Hopefully this small lump is nothing.  You could elevate the leg and try warm compresses on the area.  A small hematoma (blood collection) may cause the same finding or a thrombosed vein.  Overall, this can't be ignored, but may not be anything serious.  Report-/ see a doctor  if it worsens.

my son had a small skin infection from a pimple  on his face been taken care with bacitracin and its cured, but he still has a dark spot whatcan i do?

Sunscreen, exfoliate: The dark spot is a hyperpigmentation scar that will fade on its own. The most important thing is to wear sunscreen everyday as the spots can get darker in the sun. An over-the-counter cream containing retinol or aha can help exfoliate the spot and speed the healing, however these creams can irritate the skin. Even with the creams it will take a few weeks to months to heal, so be patient.

can i use polysporin (bacitracin and polymyxin) on clitoral area? vigorous stimulation has caused pain and likely small cuts morning after. how can i heal this?

Different idea: I think that you would be better of applying zinc oxide every time after you use the toilet. No sex until the area has healed
