can i take pantoprazole-nexium) a year beyond  expiration date.  i've tried zantac (ranitidine) for gers and am getting lot of gas pains.  endoscopy in 2 1/2 weeks?

You better don't: Any medication has so named shelf life. That mean that medication still answer to its chemical specification and expected pharmacological effect. Beyond that time point is uncertainty. You may not expect adequate effect from expired medication. There might be potential problems as well. I'd not advise you to take your chances. Go and get new prescription.

i took a pantoprazole 40 mg this morning and a zantac 150 tonight is that ok got beeping and i think heartburn?

Should be fine: These both work to lower stomach acidity.  Taking too many will just waste the pills, but not cause any harm. Hopefully your heartburn is gone.

on 40mg pantoprazole and 150mg zantac. doc has me on this for 3 months for gerd. is it normal to be on this long. tired of taking pills?

Chronic GERD: It is not unusual for patients to require long term medicine to get GERD symptoms under control and then to maintain that remission of symptoms. Many patients are not able to go off medicines completely. The goal would then be to get down to the least amount of medicines which controls you symptoms well. Anti-reflux precautions help. took pantoprazole for 2weeks ending of 2weeks still had burning throat at night. got switched to zantac (ranitidine) & not working well. best medication treatment?

See your doctor.: if your symptoms returned after two weeks of pantoprazole, you may need it longer-term. I do not recommend taking it long term unless it has been prescribed by a physician, however. I would return to see your gastroenterologist to discuss it further. In the meantime, follow anti-reflux precautions well. Good luck.

is gluten/dairy free chocolate okay for gastritis diet? currently taking zantac, protonix, (pantoprazole) and levsin-sl for loss of appetite, nausea, gnawing feeling

Caffeine free?: generally speaking it is not the gluten or the dairy that irritate gastritis unless you have celiac disease and you are lactose intolerance it is the caffeine that increase the a it and irritate the lining of the stomach and make gastritis worst in spite of taking medication so check the caffeine content

suffering from long term acidity & food/liquid reflux to food pipe. taking zantac. now,dr gave me pantoprazole 40 mg. it sorted the acidity & reflux somehow but every evening,i'm feeling bit nauseous. no vomiting or pain but an urge of wet burping. ?

Queezy from ppi: Hi GcZ648, nausea is a known but uncommon side effect of pantoprazole. It may go away with continued use. Some things that will help with your reflux are avoiding fatty, spicy, or acidic foods. Avoiding chicolate and coffee are helpful as well. Nighttime symptoms can be helped by not eating within 4 hours of bedtime. Exercise and weight loss have proven to improve symptoms as well.

Look for another cau: You need to look for another cause. Acid reflux is an important contributor but sounds like you're on adequate treatment. Allergies is another common one. Talk to your doc about that.

Yes: If you have reflux symptoms, the answer is yes.  Consider avoiding eating or drinking 3 hours prior to bedtime.

can i take mobic and pantoprazole together?

Accepted Answer

: Yes, you can take both together. Pantoprazole protects your stomach from Mobic's adverse effects. However, if you have a history of stomach ulcer or bad gastritis and you have been taking Pantoprazole, you should not take Mobic too long. If you need to take Mobic more than a week ask you doctor to switch Mobic to Celecoxib (Celebrex) which is relatively safe for patient with stomach problem.
