Meds: Flonase is for treatment of allergic rhinitis not common cold.  Some multi-symptom cold medications also contain acetaminophen (active ingredient in Tylenol).  Check label of multi-symptom cold medication for acetaminophen so child you are not giving extra Tylenol.

Not for cold: Flonase may work for allergies but not for a cold.  OTC nasal decongestant spray for no more than 5 days would be more effective.

Monitor blood pressure if you have high blood pressure because phenylephrine  can raise BP

Allegra, (fexofenadine) flonase: are standard and do not have any contraindications. While for short time you may combine decongestants. Chronic combination may increase side effects. Also chronic use of NSAIDs in advil (ibuprofen) cold and sinuse may have side effects

hi, i want to wean myself off of flonase. i tried going cold turkey for 5 days, and the withdrawal symptoms were so bad. i sprayed it into both of my nostrils today once. how long will it take to be completely off of it?

Flonase: Couple of weeks probably.  Maybe never if you have bad seasonal allergic rhinitis and require topical nasal steroid to control it.  Flonase quite harmless if you need it to control your symptoms.

help! need clarification on a question i asked earlier. trying to get off afrin with no success. no luck trying to quit cold turkey. i use 2 sprays per day. can i take flonase too and wean off afrin? oh..i do use saline spray too. thanks?

: Afrin contains a chemical that acts directly on capillaries to constrict them. Used infrequently it can provide good relief. Used too much and you damage the capillaries &amp; they leak constantly=boggy nose. Yes you can use Flonase daily. However, your best action is to stop putting in chemicals that have damaged the capillaries. Stop &amp; give it 3 weeks (Flonase), no saline either &amp; get your life back

: Flonase is a steroid nasal spray that will treat nasal inflammation and this would not interfere with the ingredients in NyQuil. So, it is ok to take these 2 medicines 4 hours apart. Good luck!
