Not usually: You need solid anchoring to move teeth. Baby teeth typically do not have the root structure and anchorage in bone to use this way. Check with the orthodontist. Good luck.

Yes: It is recommended to have all baby teeth out
 however in some cases where a phase 1 treatment can be started, some baby teeth can still be there.

No set amount: Orthodontic care is an individualized treatment, and as such, every case is different. Some patients start treatment with many primary teeth present, others with only adult teeth. Speak to an orthodontist in your area on what is correct for your specific situation.

No: We do not typically treat people with orthodontics until at least age 7.  I would see a pediatric dental specialist.

Perhaps: You have what we call mixed dentition. If after a consult with an orthodontist, they feel you can be helped meaningfully by early treatment, then yes it is a good idea. It is called phase i or early intervention orthodontics, and it is quite common.

what to do if i still have baby teeth and im 18, i'm looking for an alternative for braces?

Invisalign: Invisalign is a possible choice, but if you still have primary teeth, then those would need to be extracted. If the secondary teeth are impacted, they will most likely need to be surgically exposed, and then brought into position with traditional orthodontics. Invisalign has its limitations.

my daughters baby teeth are crowded. ortho wants 4 pulled but did not recommend an expander just braces phase 1. why? won't her adult teeth crowd?

Braces retain: Not uncommon for treatment of crowding to have some primary teeth removed to allow permanent teeth more room.  Lower and upper front teeth may not have the space to erupt in correct position and start to overlap, a narrow arch.  Often the cuspids are extracted to provide more space since these teeth don't come in till much later.  The ortho then places braces to align teeth, and preserve space.

can children get sealants before all of their baby teeth come in? i would like get sealants for both of our kids, but neither of them have all of their baby teeth yet. is there any point in getting them yet?

Sealants : Sealants are usually placed on permanent teeth, not on baby teeth. And they are placed on the posterior (back) teeth, not the front teeth.

The six year molars are the first permanent teeth that will come in that we usually put sealants on. If you want your dentist to place the sealants on your children's primary teeth, i'm sure you can speak to him/her and they will give you their opinion. There is no harm in doing it, just the expense.
