Anemic: Eating green vegetables will help replace some of your iron. My bigger concern is that the propythiouracil may be the cause of your anemia. See your doctor asap for evaluation.

Probably: just the opposite if it is bad due to bacterial /parasite contamination it will give you severe diarrhea and you may rapidly dehydrate. If you don't diagnose the infection and treat it as well as hydrate it you may subsequently develop constipation after the infection has passed.

Meat: I don't think you can blame meat for you weight gain; you need a healthy diet and moderate exercise program.

Yes: Red meat is fatty and fats frequently stimulate the bowels to move. Cutting back on fats (red meat) could therefore cause constipation.

Successful manage-: Ment of constipation requires an initial " clean-out" before MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) will work. See your primary care, or maybe a gastroenterologist. Often what's done is a plain x-ray of the abdomen & a weekend of taking go-litely, followed by at least 6 months of treatment with MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) to achieve soft stools at least every other day. Long-term constipation can lead to diverticulosis & other medical problems.

Yes: The atkins diet is not a balanced diet.  You left out all the fiber the intestine uses for effective motility of the stool.  You can still eat some vegetables with this diet and lose weight.

if i'm having constipation and belly pain, should i stop eating meat and bread until i feel better?

Maybe: If the constipation is severe(no movement in 5 days or more, i would go on a liquid diet, consuming 80 to 100 ounces of non caffeinated, non alcoholic fluid daily and taking a gentle laxative such as milk of magnesia 1-2 times per day, or MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) 1-2 times per day until you are completely emptied. Then for maintenance i would go back on a high fiber diet, and continue the fluids indefinitiely.

i have suffered from constipation, chronic body odor despite how many times i bathe, meat and diary sensitives, and no feeling for when i have to go?

Accepted Answer

Constipation: Make sure that you eat enough fiber and drink sufficient fluids to keep regular. You could take metamucil to help. Keep good hygiene. Take lactaid if you are lactose intolerant. See a gastroenterologist if you don't improve.
