Diet for: Treatment of diverticulosis is controversial.  High fiber, low fiber, etc.  I don't think eggplants are at either extreme, so i think you are ok otherwise.  Ask a dietician to make sure.

Active or resolving?: With active diverticulitis on antibiotics, want to eat smaller and easy to digest foods, avoid heavy meals. As you heal you need to increase fiber in the diet with fruits & vegetables and add fiber supplements like metamucil when alright with your doctor.

Depends : There are two schools of thought. And u guessed it, some say u can and others u can't!  personally i feel that the biggest thing is formed soft bm. If ur stool is not hard, small pellets and u don't have to strain, eating seeds in moderation should b fine. Key is fiber fiber fiber and lots of water.

No: Once you develop acute diverticulitis you should stop eating blueberries and other foods which contain significant amounts of fiber. Not right away: generally I recommend that for 2 weeks following a diverticulitis episode, my patients remain on a low residue diet. Which is a diet low in fiber. Oatmeal tends to have a high fiber content and I would only start that after 2 weeks.

Yes: It is clearly possible. Is it wise i think is what you are asking. Probably pursuing a low fat diet is best, so you can clearly eat meat and there are many choices that will stay in that low fat category. You might avoid most red meats for a while.

Yes: The old teaching suggest that you stay on low residue diet to reduce the chance of recurrent episode of diverticulitis. Sunflower seed do not leave any residue expect for the peal if accidentally ingested. Moreover we do not weigh too much on low residue diet with the recent teaching. Hope my answer was sufficient.

Depends: Acute new onset of infected diverticulitis is treated with antibiotics and small light diet of liquids or soft foods. Diverticulosis is a chronic condition that is generally treated with high fiber foods. Fruits, vegetables & salads are good for diverticulosis.
