Assume you can only drink about half as much as you could before being on any psychiatric medication. And if you are just starting the medication and your body is just getting used to it, it may be better not to drink at all.

You shouldn't: Alcohol and ssri metabolism can share common pathways and you may find your tolerance for alcohol diminishes. More important, alcohol is a depressant, and hard for antidepressant to work if you are drinking. That said, a single glass of wine of beer occasionally won't hurt you.

Mixing is dangerous: Lexapro combined with alcohol can suppress the respiratory center in the brain. The person will stop breathing  and this will cause death. There is no scientifice data showing at what quantities of alcohol and at what dossage of Lexapro can cause this depression of respiratory center . The dose that can kill the people varies from person to person. Xanax (alprazolam) + alcohol can kill the person  much faster.

Not advised: Drinking on an ssri antidepressant can make depression or anxiety persist (&quot;fighting&quot; the treatment). It increases seizure risk.  Can make alcohol feel stronger, impairing driving and similar activities more than expected.  The standard rule: avoid all alcohol.  That said, people use ssris for months or years; some use alcohol occasionally in small amts and are ok.  Weigh the risks.

Don't stop like that: It strikes me that drinking is less of a concern related to your medicine than it is regarding your anxiety.  Alcohol can be tricky to predict if you are not feeling well emotionally, so I would consider that.  Since you were only taking your Lexapro (escitalopram) for one day, you probably did not have a bad reaction.  But for the future, stopping antidepressants suddenly can make you feel terrible.  Be careful

Not advisable: I usually tell patients a little infrequntly is ok, but why are you taking lexapro (escitalopram) in the first place  there are better options for stress relief that do not have any risk such as individual or group therapy

How much?: The effects of alcohol mixed with meds are usually additive. Depending on the individual's biodhemistry drinking might be safe - but you would need to be careful about quantity. Think about dirnking - but less.
If you or family members have drinking problems, then drinking at all is a gamble.

Lexapro (escitalopram) : Any antidepressant and alcohol is bad combo. It's not recommended and could lead to other health problems. Best see your prescribing doc and discuss this

No, : No, drinking alcohol could be very dangerous for you for multiple reasons.  With dysautonomia, drinking could provoke a serious change in your blood pressure which could cause you to pass out.  With the medications you are on, you could also get a reaction causing blood pressure changes or hemodynamic instability.
