Yes or no: If you have potential weak area at hernial site, or a  small hernia you did not notice ( to be pointed out by your physician ), or a weak scar from previous surgery you  may develop hernia. If you do not have those , not much chance of getting a hernia, go for abdominal work out.

i'm a 27 year old male, i have minor hernia in my left testicle due to working out....do i have to get surgery done, and without surgery does it affect my chances of having kids?

: What you described does not add up. A small hernia would be in the groin, not in the testicle. It would be prudent to see a doctor to ascertain the nature of the lesion and to decide if any intervention is needed.

severe nausea last 3 days on and off. i have a hiatal hernia, esophagitis and ibs. i feel fine until i eat or drink something. its just constant nausea in my throat. i dont know how to get rid of it. would it be caused by any of those conditions?

: Nausea is rarely the lone symptoms of GERD and esophagitis. Nausea may be associated with IBS if you have severe constipation. If you are sexually active, pregnancy needs to be ruled out with a urine pregnancy test. Nausea could be the side effect of some common medications so I wonder if you are taking any new medication before that.

4 wks since my csection & i'm planning to wait 8 -9 wks before i start working out with lifting weights and cross fit. will i get a hernia?

No Guarantee: Lifting weights after surgery can increase your risk of hernia. Incisions take a full 6 months to heal completely. I suggest that you wait for 6 months.

i'm an athlete with a minor hernia that is causes extreme pain when i run i i get surgery how fast will i be able to return to my intense running?

Inguinal hernia : It depends how you get it done. If you get done the traditional  way , with a groin cut and mesh it will take you six weeks at least  to heal completely. If you find a surgeon that does laparoscopic (tepp) hernia repair then you can get back to normal much quicker.

Hiatal hernia : It is a diaphragm weakness in the area where the esophagus enters the abdomen and as it gets bigger it can pull part of the stomach into the chest cavity. The cause is unknown . It could be a birth defect that gets worse as you get older. It could be increase in internal abdominal pressure from obesity.  But skinny people can have it to.

i get a single loud hiccup out of nowhere. could that be caused by a hiatal hernia?

Not likely: Hiatal hernias are usually asymptomatic, and if symptomatic, usually just cause acid reflux.  Your symptoms of eructation ardmore likely due to acid reflux, dysmotility of the esophagus (which can be caused by flexural or tramadol, or some sort of diaphragmatic spasm.

my hernia on occasion causes discomfort and tenderness we want 2 more kids is it best to wait to have more kids before i get surgery? its umbilical.

Accepted Answer

See a surgeon: Have an examination with a surgeon to see what your options ; risks are. See if you have risks with or without surgery now, risks of hernia recurrence with future pregnancies, etc.
