24 y/o.a recent pap came back as abnormal, possible precancerous cells. i made a follow up appt. could a recent bad uti falsley alter the test results?

No: That doesn't happen. Please comply with your instructions for following up the pap smear. Back in the bad old days, 30000 women died yearly in the usa from cancer of the cervix. Now it is a rare cause of death, thanks almost entirely to pap smears.

last yr pap normal fri got my pap back and it was abnormal they don't have a grade and don't no why.but when i took my pap that same day i found out i have uti.the said i can wait or take a colo.help?

Call your doctor: Talk to your doctor directly to find out more about this abnormality and see what option your doctor prefers for you the most.

my pap results say negative for intraepithelial lesion or malignancy with acute inflammation. what does this mean? been tested for stds twice all negative but uti and group b strep positive. could this be the cause?

: Yes. It means no cancer or pre-cancer areas but irritation from some agent. GBS can do this as can other germs causing vaginitis/cervicitis.

had annual pap and came back showing yeast but i have no vaginal discharge.  can a yeast infection cause irritation in the urethra and cause trace intact red blood cells in the urine?  i have that but negative for uti

If culture negative,: Interstitial cystitis  is a chronic condition causing bladder pressure, bladder pain and sometimes pelvic pain. The pain ranges from mild discomfort to severe pain. The condition is a part of a spectrum of diseases known as painful bladder syndrome. Not likely from yeast.

i had abnormal paps in the past hpv neg w/ascus+epithelial cell abnormal 2 weeks ago tested + for uti/groupb strep finished nitro mono/mac but still symptoms er doc said cervix was red w/yellow+green discharge could it be hpv? other stis were neg?

: HPV doesn't cause such symptoms. You might need a different antibiotic for the strep ("nitro mono/Mac" isn't clear, but doesn't sound like usual strep treatment). A nonstandard STI might still be present, if at risk for STI (new partner, etc). For example, did they include DNA tests for Mycoplasma genitalium and trichomonas? Keep working with your doctor. No : Infected urine inside the bladder will not cause external bumps. Those would need to be evaluated by examination.

No: These are two separate and different clinical entiities.  A urinary tract infection is just that.  Bacterial vaginosis is more of colonization of the vaginal barrel by different bacteria that produce a discharge.

: Yes, both viral and bacterial infections can cause hives, and uti's are included in bacterial infections that can cause hives.

Accepted Answer

Usually does not: Cause itching. If you are on an antibiotic for  the UTI you can develop a yeast infection which can cause itching so call your doctor and tell them your symptoms.
