Varies: One current common regimen for Diflucan (fluconazole) when treating a vaginal yeast infection is to take one pill every other day for 3 days - that works about 98% of the time. Two pills one day apart will still work over 80% of the time.  Even one pill works about 70% of the time.  If you are still taking antibiotics, you may need to repeat the Diflucan (fluconazole) after completing the course of antibiotics.

When done Antibx: Antibx are a risk factor in and of themselves for a yeast infection, so your question is a good one.  Generally, it is recommended to take the anti-yeast infection medication/pills once the anti-bx is done, so that you do not get another yeas infection.  If is is unbearable, you can always get over the counter creams to help as well.

i started ortho tri cylen lo two months ago but after i took antibiotic for uti i got yeast and bacterial vaginois. now wen i take my bc pill i will have stomach upset and bloating. is this from the bad bacteria buildup?

No: Birth control pills can cause nausea in some women. I don't know if this is what you are experiencing? Also, are you constipated or having diarrhea? These conditions can cause bloating and abdominal pain.

More details: The UTI test is only checking for wbc and other features found when WBC are present (e.g. leukocyte esterase,etc).  It can be positive if there is vaginitis, e.g. trichomonas, etc.  If you are at risk for a STI, I would get checked for this as well - given that you are having discharge.  If it is not clear that you are having frequency, urgency and burning with urination, a pelvic exam is needed.

Better to wait: Probably best to do nothing, but wait and see if yeast develops and treat it then. It may not happen; antibiotics don&#x27;t always cause yeast, and it&#x27;s more likely with some antibiotics than others. If you have had repeated yeast infections with similar antibiotics as this one, maybe preventive &quot;azole&quot; treatment (vaginal cream or fluconazole orally). Check w/ doc treating your UTI.

There is none less likely to cause it. Just add yogurt to your diet 2-3 times a day to help prevent the yeast infection.

Yes, it's possible.: You could have both a yeast infection and a uti.  The treatment is different, unless the yeast infection is also causing the uti symptoms, which can happen. Get checked to get the right treatment for both, please.
