More details: The UTI test is only checking for wbc and other features found when WBC are present (e.g. leukocyte esterase,etc). It can be positive if there is vaginitis, e.g. trichomonas, etc. If you are at risk for a STI, I would get checked for this as well - given that you are having discharge. If it is not clear that you are having frequency, urgency and burning with urination, a pelvic exam is needed.
