Even : Even though there are no known interactions between Famotidine and Concerta when taking both medications, mixing them could affect absorption. When you decrease your stomach acid with famotidine, you may not absorb the Concerta appropriately, so you should probably not mix them together.

Concerta  uses a proprietary capsule with laser drilled holes. This covers a sponge like center with the meds that release slowly through the holes. The capsule is coated with med that dissolves in the 1st hrs. Generics are a tablet designed for slow release.

Only generally: Concerta is a form of methylphenidate, a stimulant used to treat adhd.  If you have adhd, you should have symptom improvement, with increased focus and attention, decreased restlessness, and decreased impulsivity--if those are your problems.  Side effects can include decreased appetite and trouble getting to sleep among other things (see pt insert).  Should know quickly if helping.

Most common are decreased appetite with weight loss, problems getting to sleep, and a slowing of height growth.  Other side effects:  increased nervousness, motor and vocal tics (if at risk), and rash.  All are reversible.  Concerns about serious risk to heart have been been debunked.
