Yes: In acute tonsillitis, bleeding is more common with streptococcal ("strep") infection.  Antibiotics are the standard treatment.  In chronic tonsillitis, bleeding is again more common with strep infections, but more importantly is an indicator that it's probably time to have a tonsillectomy.

Bleeding tonsil: Bleeding from your tonsil is a very good reason to go to a&e for immediate evaluation and management.

Severe: Tonsillitis can give those symptoms.  He could have an abscess also hope he saw his own doctor he should be rechecked

Watchful waiting.: If you don't have a fever, don't have enlarged lymph nodes on the side of the neck, and you're otherwise feeling okay, you can probably wait a few days before seeing the doctor.  The white lines could be pus... But not necessarily.  Sometimes plain 'ole mucus can look like whitish lines on the tonsils.  I would try gargling with warm salt water and some Ibuprofen for a few days, then see doc.

can tonsil stones cause tonsillitis? i have a tonsil stone that cannot be removed & tonsils are producing green tonsil stones. should i worry?

Yes and no: Tonsillitis is an inflammation of tonsils and certainly can be triggered by tonsil stones. If they cause discomfort, pl see an ENT for proper advice on ongoing preventive care and regular assessment. Feel better.

is it cause for concern if one tonsil is a lot larger than the other? strep negative. no fever, small white area on tonsil, could it be tonsillitis?

Enlarged tonsil : More information is needed. One enlarged tonsil could mean that there is an abscess, but that usually causes a fever and change in voice. Small white spots with a "negative" strep can be a tonsillith ( a particle stuck in the tonsil of no big concern) which can cause an enlarged tonsil sometimes.  The gold standard for strep is a throat culture.

No: It is common for patients to ascribe symptoms which occur after an event to that event simply because they are temporally related.  That does not make them causally related, although sometimes that may occur, but not in this case.

Dr. can check throat: New throat symptoms can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold virus or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the throat symptoms are bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat). Strep throat can have a tongue coating or bumps.

i need to know if eating dairy when you have a tonsillitis infection will cause tonsil stones - hard bumps in tonsil crypts that cause bad breath?

Tonsil stones: Tonsil stones can cause bad breath.  But they are not typically caused by dairy products.    The white spots may be from a strep infection.  If you have not seen a doctor yet, you should.  Rinsing with war salt water will help  a sore throat and reduce tonsil stones
