Hypoglycemia: Could be due to hypoglycemia from Insulin release after eating sugar/sweets.  Make an appointment with your primary doctor for a more thorough evaluation and blood work.

after eating my breakfast, i become so sleepy i can't stay awake.  getting a good night's sleep.  i have a high carb break of cinnamon toast/prunes.  ?

Ok: Probably due to the high intake of simple carbs. Try high protiene breakfast to avoid the post carb crash.

Have it evaluated: This issue needs a detailed evaluation to determine the cause and treatment options. You may want to start with a neurologist but do something before the problem continues to increase.

Yes: Ativan (lorazepam) is likely not going to help with your GAD.   I suggest you see a specialist. You cannot be assessed for OSA while taking short acting benzo's or other medications that modify sleep. This needs to be looked into if you are heavy and having sleep issues. After you have your stomach pumped in the ER and see the psychiatrist to make sure this was not a suicide attempt. Ask for a work up.

Listen to your body: Possibly let your body dictate what you do as far as sleep.  If you try and stay awake, that might be counter productive.

All nighters: So typically my recommendation is actually to stay awake during the daylight hours even if have not slept the night before.  This is assuming that you will be permitted to sleep that night and not have repeat "no sleep" on night 2.  If not sure, generally want to limit any daytime sleep to &lt; 1-2 hours and do before 2pm if needed and then go to sleep that night "when tired.".

At least 6 hours: Ideally you should be sleeping for 8 hours straight on a regular basis. Less than 6 hours of sleep is associated with risk of cardiovascular morbidity.

See Physician: It is difficult to tell what is wrong without seeing you and maybe doing a sleep study.  I would suggest seeing a sleep physician for n evaluation.

Symptoms not related: to back injury. More likely related to closed head injury.
Go to a Level I or II Trauma center ER and relate these symptoms to the MD there
