: When the subclavian artery has a significant blockage it takes away some of the arterial blood flow going upward to the brain leading to lightheadedness or fainting. Check your blood pressure in both arms. If the weaker BP is more than 10 points lower, it suggests a blockage in the artery in that arm. This would not be a subclavian steal though.

Vascular US: The diagnosis of subclavian steal usually made by Doppler ultrasound of the arteries &amp; veins with the arm in various positions. If there is truly no pulse when arms are over your head, the Doppler signal in that position should read 0 (or minute flow incompatible with health). After that, arteriography with possible stenting or embo to diagnose &amp; treat. Talk to Vascular Surgeon or HealthTap Prime.

Only dye; blood flow: Angio (blood) gram (picture) is a technique to see a shadowgram of dye (absorbs X-Ray gamma rays) mixed with blood on an X-Ray sensitive film or imaging device. Results: shadows of the dye, still or motion picture. Angiograms NEVER fix anything, only a blood visualization technique &amp; dye (filtered out of blood by kidneys over hours) can create problems. Clots→Scar tissue=always what blocks flow.

Never say Never: Very rarely in children and adolescents, very, very rarely in young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 and there is no evidence in those older. It is thought this may be related to a side effect of motor restlessness, or to an induction of mania in susceptible individuals.

Mood disorder or?: These could be symptoms of a mood disorder, such as bipolar disorder mixed episode with irritability, insomnia, depression/suicidality; or agitated depression.  Also it could be effects of alcohol or other substance abuse.  Or still other possibilities.  Your best bet would be to see a psychiatrist for a comprehensive evaluation & treatment options. A combination of medication and psychotherapy can help prevent the suicidal thoughts and/or actions which could end a life unnecessarily.

Call 911 or go to ER: If you are having a hard time keeping yourself safe from self harm, this is the time when it is absolutely and beyond a question of doubt the time to call 911 or take yourself the nearest emergency room (if you can get yourself there safely).

TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER AND GO TO YOUR LOCAL EMERGENCY ROOM OR DIAL 911 IMMEDIATELY.
