Doubtful: Have you had doctor check enlarged lymph nodes? Lymph node swelling is most often caused by various infections: flu, chickenpox or infections mononucleosis. Cancer may spread to nodes. Leukemia and lymphomas will also cause node swelling. However, these type of swellings grow more slowly, and tend to be hard and fixed. Please have your doctor check to rule out infection or anything more serious.

Continue next steps: Keep talking with those doctors as blood test may not reveal the cause of the enlarged neck nodes. Additional examination for possible local inflammatory condition in your body, may be needed and if no obvious cause, by the third month, you may need lymph node biopsy. Benign causes still exceed cancerous causes and hematology and pathology consults may be useful. Do not worry, most arre treatable.

Herpes 1: Often the first episode of a cold sore outbreak is associated with throat soreness and swollen lymph glands. Oral and topical antiviral medications may shorten duration of symptoms, especially if used early. Future outbreaks may occur and have less symptoms except the cold sore eruption. Your pharmacist can recommend some nonprescription medications for you.

Stress/lymph nodes?: Stress did not cause the lymphnodes, but can cause poor sleep and thus tiredness etc...
Small nodes around your neck, if the come and go etc..Then not likely to be serious--often viral illnesses do that. If they are persistent and enlarging in sizes, consult with your doc.
In the meantime, stress relief, eat well, sleep well will make you feel better.

just had a nuclear stress test today, 8/10/21. felt fine afterwards. got home 2 hours later and lymph nodes swollen on left side of neck and ear ans sore to the touch. two lumps on top of scalp also. feel chilled. could this be frome the iv injectio?

: Most possibly such an acute reaction suggests a allergic reactioin. Please calll the Doctors office , they may need to see you  and or prescribe a short term Steroids.

Evaluation: You should have blood test ( CBC ,EBV, CMV) and if all normal ,then you should have Pet CT,and if positive you need biopsy for diagnosis and treatment.

It sure can!: The lymph nodes in the head and neck will enlarge whenever there is a problem above them.  So a sore throat, or other problem with your face, scalp, sinuses and ears can cause them to enlarge.  If they stay enlarged for more than a month, see your doctor.  It is also a good idea to get checked to be sure you don't have strep throat, which requires antibiotics to be effectively treated.

Probable: Although the cause of canker sores remain obscure, stress and perhaps even another viral illness may trigger them. Thus it is not difficult to imagine that swollen lymph glands can indeed occur.   However if the glands are getting larger fast or lingering on for more than a month, check with  your doctor.

Under 3 cm: Bigger than 3 cm is cause for interest, but more concerning are rapidly-enlarging nodes that are not tender, or that are fixed to surrounding structures. Neck nodes shrink and grow seemingly for no reason.

Lymph node.: By your description and by the amount of time that this node has been there, it’s probably fine. Although technically speaking, the only way to know with certainty would be to remove it and send it to a laboratory for pathologic analysis.
