Yes: Yes, stress can manifest itself in multiple ways in terms of symptoms from gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal and other organ systems as well as your  energy levels.  Stress can can have significant negative impacts if prolonged.  You should talk to your doctor.

No, but: It can make you more vulnerable to germs in your environment. Sounds like you caught something. Try OTC for symptom relief and if you have a fever, call your Dr to ask if you should come in for an exam. Hope you feel better soon.

can stress & tension cause neck and shoulder pain especially if have injury n neck and shoulder? what if anything helps?

Yes it can: Absolutely, as stress builds people tend to have it manifest in increased muscle tension in the neck and trunk.  This can easily translate to the trapezius area and therefore shoulders.  Heat, cervical stretches,  can be helpful.  Meditation can be helpful as can  exercise to relieve stress.  Core workouts such as yoga increases flexibility and decrease stress as well.

pain under my chin that comes and goes. neck pain almost always there with movement. have these symptoms with breathlessness and some lightheadedness but i had normal stress echo and cardiologist says no heart issues recently what could be the cause?

Neck pain: Neck discomfort with associated breathlessness and lightheadedness ,especially if unrelated to exertion, is characteristic of tension in the muscles and stress,anxiety reactions. For peace of mind consult an otolaryngologist for evaluation and advice. If no pathology, stress management therapy should help. Discuss this with your physician.

good morning, if i have quite severe fatigue, swollen lymph glands, blocked nose, constant head ache and neck pain & generally sore body. is this a cause for concern or just stress related?

Your symptoms suggest that you may have an upper respiratory tract infection/flu. These symptoms can be exacerbated by stress. It is recommended that you try over-the -counter medication to help your symptoms or consult your doctor if needed. 
I advise that you get bed rest, keep well hydrated, eat a healthy diet and avoid exercise.

Being nitpicky!: In my opinion there is no such thing as being nitpicky when a patient is suffering from pain and a doctor recommends a treatment. I would expect all my patients to ask about the treatments, side effects, complications and outcomes. If a physician does not like you asking questions about your own body, i would think it is time to change the physician not your questioning! keep asking.

Muscular pain - help: Pain generators likely muscular - have someone apply gentle pressure to the sore muscle areas for 1-2 min at a time. Pain likely to subside after 3-4 sessions.  If no relief have doctor check for greater occipital neuralgia (treatable with injections) etc. Other options - yoga, biofeedback, keep neck warm with hoodie, scarf etc. John e sarno's book (amazon) has helped many folks with chronic pain.

Neck pain: Muscle spasm is a symptom of an overactive fight or flight system that is usually what we call stress. I suggest you look for modalities to decrease stress: meditation, yoga, acupuncture, massage, rolfing, feldenkrais. Consider seeing a chiropractor, too. Besides my work, consider seeing a therapist for talk therapy.

Stress: A good regular exercise program and relaxation perhaps in a Yoga program. Also try and reduce the factors that may be producing your stress. Good Luck

Concerning: Given your age and the presence of hypertension, i would not ignore any chest pain/neck pain, especially if recurrent.  I would advise at least getting an urgent appointment with your md, but if the pain is severe and recurrent, i would consider going to the er.  Anxiety is one possibility, but it is a "diagnosis of exclusion" meaning that we consider it only after ruling out more risky causes.
