Unlikely, but...: Of course it is possible to get pregnant after having sex. That is why a woman who has sex must be ready for an unintended pregnancy. However, it is very unlikely to happen, if having "protected sex" correctly, or having with "no ejaculation". If worried, a home pregnancy test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex, or 1 week after missing a period. In this case, that means wait another 5 days.

Exhale w/menses: Typically directions for home pregnancy tests state to use 4wks after last period, not on 1st day. Typically, one exhales when menses start flowing (assuming you don't want to get pregnant) since this implies you didn't get pregnant, although not infrequently, some women spot upon implantation while others bleed/spot regularly thruout pregnancy. If still worried, use hpt as directed 4wks after lmp.

Not likely: There are some failures in the test. especially if not done right or a very expired test. But odds per month doing evertything perfect are under 30%.

POssible Pregnancy: Pms symptoms and early pregnancy sx may be similar.  Neg test may just be too soon.  If still neg in 10 days pregnancy is very unlikely.  If period has not started by that time may need to see ob-gyn for eval and tx.

Irregular timing: of ovulation, is most likely the  reason,  delayed or absent ovulation will cause you to be late. Pregnancy sounds very unlikely.  See your doctor for testing and treatment, to correct ovulation issues. This could be from PCOS, thyroid isssues, or hormone medications.

last time sexually actively february 29th got regular period in march. this month extremely stressed due to job loss &corona fears have not gotten period during placebo week only 1 day dark blood. multiple negative pregnancy test, what can this be?

Ptregnancy ?: Your comments suggest a "placebo week", which generally means one is on oral bcp's.  The placebo week bleeding is just withdrawal bleeding from very low dosage bcp's, so "one day of dark blood" is possible. A more accurate pregnancy test is a serum HCG test.  Do not miss starting the next pack of bcps at the end of the placebo week, or ovulation may occur !

period hasn't come yet and i have frequent urination and heavier breasts. i had a vaginal ultrasound and found out that i have pcos. i also had a negative pregnancy test. i have been stressed these last couple of months but why am i feeling this way?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Wish you good health!

It happens sometimes: Many women have occasional variation of their mucus discharge, some spotting between periods, a heavier period, a lighter period, a longer or shorter period, or even a missed period.  Having one or two of these symptoms doesn’t necessarily mean there is a medical problem, but a visit to one’s primary care or Ob-Gyn doctor is a good idea if symptoms are persistent, recurring, or worrisome.

Not being pregnant : is the overwhelming reason for negative pregnancy test. Testing too early, defective test, or not following directions are other reasons. There are no physiologic reasons for false negs. Best wishes.
