Rare: I have never heard of that happening. It is possible that there might already be a crack in a tooth that is further exposed by a dental cleaning. Dental cleaning is good for your and harmless.

is it  possible my dh  fractured my tooth? my tooth broke the day after my deep cleaning.

Existing damage: Healthy teeth are very strong and do not break easily, even when strong forces are applied during hygiene care.  Weak teeth happen when you had history of trauma (car accident, collision, fall, etc.), decay, multiple micro-fractures from clenching/grinding you are not aware of--especially if during sleep.  Other teeth may also have similar internal damages and are about to break. Get them checked.

a month after an apicoectomy, i got a dental filling on an adjacent tooth and then a deep cleaning at the dentists office during the same appointment. since then, the area has become sensitive. did the deep cleaning adversely affect the apicoectomy?

: Sensitive in what regards? Sensitivity to cold, sweets, when biting down, or constant? This info would help formulate a meaningful answer. See your dentist for a follow up.

would a deep dental cleaning help blocked salivary gland in paratoid? also, i have loose tooth and they recommended a deep cleaning. should that help the loose tooth? i have 2 more sessions coming up. thank you?

: A dental cleaning will not unblock a salivary gland obstruction. Regarding a somewhat loose tooth, a decrease in inflammation may help, and certainly keeping the area super clean will give that tooth a little more longevity.

had deep cleaning 2 weeks ago on 4 front bottom teeth.  one tooth is now sensitive to the touch if i touch the top of the tooth..  only hurts if you bother it.  what could be causing this?  thank you.

Painful Teeth: It would be best to know the condition of the teeth and bone support before trying to diagnose your issue. It could just be a bit of sensitivity following the cleaning, or it could even be periodontal problems. Your dentist examined you and treated you... for a definitive answer, ask them.

can a dentist refuse a dental cleaning, if he insists on doing a deep cleaning on three teeth?  all i wanted was a regular cleaning.

Yes: If you your dentist says that you need a deep cleaning on some of your teeth then he should have informed you that you have periodontal disease affecting those areas and the standard of care for treatment is scaling and root planing (deep cleaning). Your dentist can either choose to not treat you the way you request or have you sign an informed refusal to treat the periodontal disease then clean.

Give it time: See if the pain doesn't gradually diminish over the next few weeks. Your mouth may still be sore from the deep cleaning. If it still hurts after three weeks or so, call your dentist for a follow up visit.

Return: Return to the Dentist or gum specialist (Periodontist) that treated you.  May be as simple as some impacted food debris.  May be a more complex problem.  But we can't treat you over the computer, and your Dentist has x-rays of the area, so return for reevaluation.

Probably: If you haven't been told that you have gum disease before and haven't had deep cleanings before, then yes, regular cleanings involving scaling and polishing can help you avoid gum disease. Deep cleanings are generally done when there are signs of active gum disease. While regular cleanings are helpful, your daily oral hygiene routine of brushing and flossing has a greater impact.
