No: Gallstones have no relationship whatsoever to the urinary tract. It is possible to get kidney stones or bladder stones, however, which can contribute to the formation of UTIs. If you have recurrent UTIs, it is wise to be evaluated by your doctor, who may refer you to a urologist if you are found to have stones in the urinary tract. Good luck.

Abdominal pain: that pain is atypical of a UTI (I think you mean a cystitis rather than pyelonephritis)-- the former usually afflicts the suprapubic/lower abdomen area

Abdominal pain: Some younger men have a tight opening of the bladder (called the bladder neck) which causes difficulty or pain while passing urine. Other possibilities here could include a kidney stone or kidney infection. I would recommend that you see a urologist for a thorough evaluation.

Not recurrent.: If it happens again it would be wise to obtain a culture to "prove" that this is indeed a UTI rather than something else.  I would hope that your doctor had actually discussed this with you rather than the other way around.

90 year old woman has another uti with e coli (4th since hospitalization 7 mo ago). resistant or recurrent? need treatment every time if no symptoms?

Recurrent UTIs: She needs to be evaluated by and urologist and or gynecologists. She must be placed in suppressive daily antibiotics. She should urinate often without the desire to keep the bladder empty most of the time and avoid drinking fluids 2 hours before going to bed.

i am male and i have completed my antibiotics for uti. after a week, my symptoms have been reduced. less pain after urination. when can i start to masturbate and cum? i am afraid of recurrent uti after i cum. should i wait for another week?

: Suggest wait another week to let things stabilize. Drink adequate amt. of water every daym and empty your bladder when you get the urge to urinate to help prevent recurrence.

i have been facinh recurrent uti attacks since last 1 year.it increases when i have sex. i have had tests n taken antibiotics like nitrofuraintoin n levofloxacin for around 2 months but now the symptoms are coming back.in the first tym organisam detected

Urinate after sex: the mechanics of sex will push the bacteria in the urethra into the bladder.  if you don't urinate after sex the bacteria can grow in your bladder for hours and become well established in you bladder after a few hours.  Another thing I would recommend is don't drink citrus juices.  Cranberry juice is ok. ( not citrus )

im currently taking meds to clear out bv but feel like im developing uti symptoms can bv trigger recurrent utis? and is it safe to take nitrofurantoin while taking the metronidazole? i take my last 500mg tonight?

: Neither metronidazole nor BV is likely to cause UTI. If you have recurrent UTIs and current symptoms are similar, it may be reasonable to start your nitrofurantoin; it is safe along with MTZ. But first it would be wise to use a UTI self-test strip. Don't start NTF unless it shows evidence of UTI. If in doubt, call your doctor to discuss urinalysis and urine culture. Good luck.

can constipation really cause that much of a problem long term? had recurrent utis and an ultrasound and ct scan of kidneys, bladder, etc. come back normal. said constipation caused three months of back and side pain and uti symptoms. second opinion?

: Failure to evacuate fully during constipation can cause the lower intestines to widen/balloon out from the excess. Over time that stretch can weaken the circular muscles in the colon lining making them less powerful &amp; eventually add to constipation.  I have seen it take a year of daily therapy to have a chronically constipated person resume normal emptying with a normal sized colon.
