due to antipsychotics withdrawal i can't sleep. if take hydroxyzine benadryl & trazodone temporarily will my sleep patterns return & need no more meds?

That's too much. : I wouldn't think it prudent to pummel yourself to sleep with all of that.  If anything, maybe just 25mg of Benadryl nightly. Although it would be better in the long run if you didn't take anything - would be a lousy few days but in the end your sleep would be more natural and spontaneous.

i took 50 mg of trazadone 1 benadryl gel cap and a 150mg hydroxyzine to go to sleep is this to much. i have so much trouble falling asleep ?

Frustrating!: Worsened sleep quality is a big hassle. Trazodone is an antidepressant; both Benadryl and hydroxyzine are antihistamines. Try to stick with one med from each category.  Look at max doses: Trazodone 300-400mg, Benedryl 50mg, hydroxyzine 100mg. You could change your mix: something like Trazodone 150mg + Benedryl 50mg. The more important question is why you're not sleeping! See you Family Doc!

No: Atarax (hydroxyzine) is not a drug tested for in drug testing  it is an antihistamine and non-addictive.

: Prozac is one of many psychiatric meds that are not part of the usual DOT drug screening program. However, whether it is permitted depends on the mental state &amp; the effect of the medication on your level of neurological function. You may be subject to a specific drivers medical exam while on the drug to see if there are changes in the level of alertness, speed of reactions, motor function.

Trazodone half-life: The elimination half-life of trazodone is about 10-12 hours. It takes almost 6 elimination half-life's for a drug to be cleared from the human body. Well... It could take a maximum of 72 hours or 3 days (6 x 12 hours) for xanax (alprazolam) to be completely eliminated. On monday the test will be negative.

It will not...: Attempting to foil a drug screen will just add misery for you--your employer or whoever is requesting the drug screen will see you not just a dope but also a liar (trying to hide/sabotage your drug test). : IT IS NOT LIKLEY THAT IT WILL SHOW UP IN THE TEST. THE TESTS ARE FOR OPIOIDS AND ILLEGAL DRUGS.

can taking a benedryl affect a drug test?

It depends,,: It depends on what you're being tested for and how much benedryl you took.  Apparently it may cause a false positive result for Methadone in some urine drug screens using competitive binding immunoassays, and if too much is taken, it can cause blurry vision, photophobia, heart failure, and death, but a lot has to be taken.  Otherwise, there should not be much of a problem.  Good luck.
