: The color/tint of poop is the product of germ action on the ultra-green bile added from the liver in transit. If poop stays a long time it is darker brown. Intermediate time=some shade of yellow. Rapid-transit would likely be a shade of green. I wouldn't bother blaming your food or the med.

i take protonix and famotidine when i have stomach pain, but it does not work at all. my doctor says it is not an ulcer, because if it was, these medicines would work. i am still worried about ulcer because i take aspirin. is this true?

: The doses you're taking may not be strong enough to treat a peptic ulcer. If your symptoms don't resolve consult a gastroenterologist for evaluation and advice. Any appropriate testing will be done.

how long does it take lpr to heal? been on protonix 40mg in a.m. and 20mg pepcid at night for 32 days. no improvement.  changed to acid reflx diet too

Endoscopy: You need a gastroenterologist to do an endoscopy and visualize the esophagus and the stomach also.  Some times it is not the esophagus completely producing the symptoms.  A stomach ulceration needs to be ruled out.

suffering from acid reflux for 1 wk. was put on protonix (pantoprazole) 4 days ago but havnt felt relief from chest pain/burning. when will the medicine take affect?

Give time to heal.: Protonix (pantoprazole) is a very effective drug and works from the very first day in blocking the acid production, The burning is usually from the damage to the lining of the esophagus (The food pipe). This damage takes about a week or little longer to heal. Please continue taking Protonix (pantoprazole) and give some time.

i was prescribed cipro 500 mg for 3 days 2x day for uti. can i still take my ppi protonix in the morning before the cipro and zantac at night?

No interaction: There are no important interactions between these drugs. If you google "drug interactions", you'll find a number of websites where you can enter various drugs and check whether they have any effect on each other. Or as your pharmacist.

took protonix 40mg daily but stopped working after stomach bug weeks ago. now on dexilant 60mg for 5 days. how long does it take to be 100% burn free?

Dexilant is a PPI: . PPI's ("Proton Pump Inhibitors")
take around 5-7 days to reach their therapeutic levels but you can (temporarily) BLOCK the acid by using an OTC (Over the Counter) "H-2 receptor" medication (eg: ZANTAC or PEPCID) Ask your pharmacist for a recommendation!

i have gerd and and take protonix. for the past 3 days i have been experiencing pain in my sternum going up the front of my neck into my throat and heartburn. tums it didn't help, now started mylanta with my ppi. any other remedies to help this?
