Suffering from acid reflux for 1 wk. was put on protonix (pantoprazole) 4 days ago but havnt felt relief from chest pain/burning. when will the medicine take affect?

Give time to heal.: Protonix (pantoprazole) is a very effective drug and works from the very first day in blocking the acid production, The burning is usually from the damage to the lining of the esophagus (The food pipe). This damage takes about a week or little longer to heal. Please continue taking Protonix (pantoprazole) and give some time.
