colonoscopy. golytely only caused one good bowel movement for me. i am now popping clear. literally 30 minutes later. i have history of obstruction and appear bloated. does this mean it didnt work?

: If your stool is clear, then you are probably all set for your colonoscopy. If you are concerned, call your doctor. Perhaps you didn’t eat much in the couple of days before your prep so it didn’t take much to get your stool clear. Hope your test goes well!! Good luck!!

this morning i heard this loud popping sound from left sidebof abdomen. could it be bowel perforation, a little pain bur thats all.?

Highly unlikely: Bowel perforations are extremely painful and associated with a high fever. A loud pop could be from a subluxed rib or vertebral body on your spine, but not from a bowel perforation.

i was pushing during a bowel movement, then felt a sensation in the center of my abdomen, like a hard popping that sank down. should i be worried?

Accepted Answer

Consider: Consider an umbilical (belly button) hernia.  Unless you have severe abdominal pain, most likely you do not need to worry.

Musculoskeletal pain: This could be from a pulled muscle, cartilage inflammation, tendon strain, bone bruise, etc. Local treatment like ice or heat (whichever feels better) to the area as well as ibuprofen to reduce inflammation is the best initial therapy. If it persists after a few days, or it worsens, see your doctor. A stool softener may help to prevent this and your pharmacist or doctor can recommend one for you!!

at a sudden bowel movement got less.. every day im having bowel movement but with less quantity.. increased popping
increased weight from 68 to 70
little increase in tummy
pimples on face one after the other?

: You may need to increase the intake of fiber. Be mindful of the weight gain, as with increasing age, metabolism slows down and you need to reduce your caloric/food intake.  Drink more water to keep urine mostly colorless.

: Anxiety has a definite effect on the bowels. It can both speed up or slow down fecal matter transit through the intestinal tract causing different shapes of stool. Of course other factors like food intolerance, intestinal tract infections can cause looser BM's.  Lack of fiber or certain medications can slow stool transit.

Yes: In particular, soluble fiber.  This type usually gives more bulk and form to stool matter.

Yes: Swallowing copious sinus drainage could cause irritation in your intestines, causing mushy bowel movements.  Try doing saline nasal washes daily during the peak allergy season. It will clear out mucus and debris which collect in your nasal passages and cause irritation and inflammation. You should already be on an antihistamine (claritin or zyrtec) as well as a steroid nasal spray (flonase).

No: Corns and calluses are caused by repeated pressure or friction against skin.  It is a protective reaction to avoid blisters.  In the foot, corns generally occur due to pressure from ill-fitting shoewear.  
Removing the corn will not cause more corns to grow in their place, but if the original cause of the corn is not changed, the corn will come back.

why do i have corns on the top of my toes? what causes this?

Friction: Is the cause and the shape of the toe. Most are hammertoes and can be corrected. The bone under the corn causes the corn and as bone gets larger so does corn. You can pad the area, trim the corns or remove them by surgery.
