A member asked:

Will removing a corn cause more corns to grow in its place?

No: Corns and calluses are caused by repeated pressure or friction against skin. It is a protective reaction to avoid blisters. In the foot, corns generally occur due to pressure from ill-fitting shoewear. Removing the corn will not cause more corns to grow in their place, but if the original cause of the corn is not changed, the corn will come back.

Yes: Corns are caused by undue internal and/or external pressure on the skin. If the offending cause isn't addressed, the corns usually recur.
